BLACKPOOL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW
24th JUNE 2018.
My sincere thanks to Blackpool for this long awaited appointment. My records tell me I first judged the breed in 1958, a firm favourite who will always take pride of place. Nice entry, excellent stewards, and outstanding ring. Weather a little to hot 32o, but I did release the large classes into the shade. A quality entry, with some outstanding youngsters entering the frame.

1 Groves & Lafford “ LATEAGAIN SATISFACTION “ JW
20 month and so much to like about him, had balance in all areas, body, head, and on the move. Liked his confident expression, eye shape and colour so good, ears well set.
Top line was firm, level, and held correct at all times. Both front and rear assembley were so good. Tidy feet, so important in this breed. On the move he gave a really good performance not only sound but produced the reach and follow through I so admire. Kept him in my eye during the challenge.
2 Schneiders “SHANTOCK MOON RIVER “
3 half year old mature male , would like a little more under jaw on this one, angles ok and, top and underline good. Very roomy chest proportion, fell short on the move, lacked pace and direction.
MID LIMIT DOG
1 Plummers “GRAFMAX ALFIE BOA “ JW
2 year old, one I eyed up at Manchester a year ago, and he just does not disappoint. Took time to settle, but he did, and it was worth the wait. Such a delightful exhibit, impressive profile, masculine head piece, confident, yet quite soft expression. Strongest of top lines firm, level, and short. Tail set correct. Substancial well made fore and aft angles. Tidy feet, underline good with just the right amount of tuck. Well let down hocks, oozed power on the move so very sound, excellent pace, but would like a slacker lead. One to watch.
1 Hogg “ MIANNA’S WILLIAM WALLACE “
4 year old mature, on form and so well handled. A robust individual, so balanced both in head and body. Just could not fault his profile. Slight arch to a neck of good length. Well defined wither. Top line like most today was short, firm and level. His angles were so well construction, best of feet, and gave me such a smooth effortless gait in all direction. Kept him in my eye during the challenge.
2 Santoriello “ KORIFEY AMULET “ JW.
19 month old red dog ticked so many boxes in a group of males that scored so well and will always be in the frame. Loved his overall balance, substance, and confidence, classic head, planes, eyes and ears an asset. Such a good top line, firm and held level at all times, couldn’t fault his fore hand or rear assembly, which he used to best effect on the move. In this area he really did shine, easy smooth held together by good handling. Well done.
3 Bishop “ REPERTOIRE SIMPLY RED”
1 Tyler “ JOJAVIK BULLETPROOF BOMB” JW Shcm
3 half year old a robust and still only semi mature exhibit. Easy in presentation, showing his absolutely correct profile, head piece masculine, and slightly arrogant , which I like. Using his well placed ears to best effect. Strong top line, from a neck of good length into a well define wither. His top line by the way was held firm and level at all times. Shoulder to upper arm word perfect giving him the forward reach on the move I was looking for. Good feet. Elbows well tuked in deeproomy chest, nice tuck at loin. His rear assembly has a moderate width and angle. Hock so powerful, and worked so well on the move. So well collected both coming and away, but on side gait he scored so well which in the final look gave him the top spot handled to perfection, with light hands and perfect pace. BD. BOB. Short listed in the group.OUTSTANDING.
2 Rennie “KORIFEY RAGE “ JW.
3 year old and for me pushed the winner to the limit, but sadly lost out to my yearling winner for the reserve by a whisker. Scored so well in profile, square well muscled frame. Strongest of bone. Showing that confident expression which I love so much in the breed. Best of angles. Walked into a perfect present which couldn’t be faulted. On the move second to none. I’m sure we will meet again. Very well done.

2 half year old, sound young lady but I found her very mature and confident, and so easy on the eye. Liked her deportment which does a lot for me. Feminine head piece, especially kind eye. Strong neck, level firm top line which was short and held a all times. Will I’m sure change places with the winner in the future. Very sound and moved at the correct pace. Well done.
3 Murray “ DIEGOS DAISEY DUKE “
MID LIMIT BITCH
1 Evans,Pittendrigh & Bloore “AMAZON LET ME LOVE YOU.” JW
15 month old and she really did give me food for thought. Apart from ticking all the box’s I found her such a confident and easy act to follow. Super profile, which included a well balance head, feminine all through which moved on to the perfect top line. This she held at all times. All angles were so well put together, and of course so important when it came to movement. This I’m pleased to say gave her a big edge in the race for the RCC, which she won with ease. So very sound and athletic. Well done. RCCB.
2 Groves “ LATEAGAIN GOLD DUST “ JW.
2 year old and she followed the winner of this class as a very close second. She’s such a good type of girl, so well angulated and free from any exaggeration. Smart in presentation and has that keen expression that demands attention. Easy mover, so well handled in all directions, in particular her side gait was very impressive. Well done.
3 Gallagher “ IZRALIGHT FIREDANCER “ JW SHCM
1 Webb “ SHALISSA TII AMO “
5 year old, so very mature, and delivering the power of a very confident exhibit. She was handled so well in this class. So robust and of excellent type, the handler left no stone unturned to impress me, which kept me so interested in her. So muscular althrough and so typical of the breed, ok for bone, top line couldn’t be any better. Her well formed front and rear helped her produce an eye catching display on the move. She really must hit the top spot soon. Well done.
2 Barber “ AMAZON CHANEL FOR ALCUMLOW “
2 half year old so mature for her age, I found her a delight to go over, she really did come close to taking this class, she just tailed off a little on the move. She has such a good well balanced profile, both top and underlines couldn’t be faulted. Handled well in presentation. Well done.
3 Waldie “ VONEDSTRAM VALESKA “
1 Graham & Mycroft “ SUPETA’S POCKET ROCKET AT SHARHYSTE “ JW
2 half and for me at the top of her game, I was reminded after judging that I had given her a top puppy award in AVNSC in Scotland a couple of years ago, pleased to say I did remember. She really does fit into the top bracket, and is so easy on the eye. Best of heads, with that soft yet confident expression we all look for. Well placed ears, lovely almond eye what more could you ask for. Her top line was one of the best on the day, firm and well muscled. All her well assembled fore, and aft angles came into best use on the move. She had the pace, and reach, and drive which I just could not fault, even so in the final challenge I did look at several others, but I just couldn’t help but return to her for the final nod. Well done. BCC. So well done.
2 Ingrams “ CH JOJAVIK PENELOPE PITSTOP” JW
What a delightful name for this 4 year old. She really did push the winner to the limit I really was hard pressed to separate them, such a well balanced mature girl of immense breed type. So well collected and with out a dought in it to win, the handler pulling out all the stops, profile wise she is so so good, with the keenest of expression, and the confidence I so much admire in the best of the breed. Apart from excellent angles and strong well developed bone, she really did give of her best on the move graceful, sound, and so accurate in all directions. Well done..
3 Groves “ LATEAGAIN HEART OF GOLD “
VETERAN BITCH none.
I was so pleased with my final line up, but not only that the overall quality in all the classes was outstanding and should give the breeders a great deal of pleasure.
