Day two – Gundog
6 – 11 years
1st Charlotte Rutherford
A polite young handler who appeared to have a good rapport with her dog. She knew what pace to run the dog at, kept her lines straight and had him stood well during the lineup.
2nd Georgia Maskett
A confident young handler who had full control over her large dog. She ran him at the correct pace and knew how to stack the dog. It was a close class but my winner’s lines were slightly neater.
3rd Evie Parkes
12 – 17 years
1st Sophie Wildig
A confident handler who knew exactly how to present her dog. She held his attention the entire time and kept her lines neat on the move, using the whole ring. Sophie was very attentive; her shadowing was spot on and she knew to move the dog’s leg back when I misplaced it.
2nd Abi Levene
It’s always nice to see a handler who enjoys showing their dog and Abi seemed completely at ease as she moved around the ring. In addition to this, she kept her lines straight and was attentive to my position, standing her dog the correct distance away from me and shadowing as I moved around.
3rd Sophie Bell
18 – 24 years
1st Rebecca Mills
It was evident that this handler had a great bond with her dog, as she managed to keep her attention the whole time. When asked to move, she kept her lines straight and was attentive to my position.
2nd Olivia Busby
Another handler who had a good bond with her dog. Olivia was polite and had her dog stood correctly everytime I looked over.
3rd Melissa Osborne-Brown
25 – 40 years
1st Maxine Proudler
This handler stood alone but certainly earned her place. She kept her lines neat on the move and encouraged her dog around the ring. In addition to this, she was attentive to the judge’s position and made sure not to get between myself and the dog.
1st Caroline Smith
A confident handler who had a good bond with her dog. Caroline stood alone but certainly earned her place. She was very polite and made sure to encourage her dog around the ring. She could have used the full ring when she returned to the lineup but this is the only room for improvement I picked up on.
