Day three – Hound and Utility
YKC Handling
6 – 11 years
1st Kiera Barbor
This young handler had her dog stood correctly as soon as she entered the ring, which caught my attention. On the move, her lines were straight and she was attentive to my position, standing her dog the correct distance away from me. She kept the dog’s attention throughout and it was clear that the two have a good bond.
2nd Lacey Stevenson
Another handler who had a great bond with her dog. She encouraged him around the ring and managed to keep his attention throughout. Her lines were neat and she had him stood correctly in the lineup.
3rd Zoe Hudson
12 – 17 years
1st Bobbi Shepherd
This handler stood out to me because of her straight lines and the rapport she had with her dog. She was polite and attentive to my position. In addition to this, she didn’t take long standing her charge and untimately made the dog look as though it was showing itself.
2nd Abi Levene
This handler was showing the largest dog in the class but still moved around the ring with ease and stacked her dog without issue. She kept her lines neat and displayed excellent shadowing.
3rd Daisy Mason
18 – 24 years
1st Bryony Fossett
All three handlers in this class were extremely competent and I had a difficult job choosing a winner. For me, the main thing that set Bryony apart was her confidence. In addition to this, she reassured her dog as they moved around the ring together. She kept her lines neat and her shadowing was correct.
2nd Luke Sampson
Another confident handler who knew exactly how to present his dog. On the move, his lines were straight and he was attentive to my position. Excellent shadowing.
3rd Tye Kitchen
Adult Handling
25 – 40 years
1st Michelle Jones
This handler stood alone but displayed that she was competent. She knew to move the dog’s leg back when I misplaced it, kept her lines neat and had a good bond with her dog.
41+ years
1st Angela Mason
A polite handler who used the whole ring to her advantage. She kept her lines neat and was attentive to my position.
2nd Angela Draper
Another handler who was attentive to my position. Angela displayed correct shadowing and had a good bond with her dog.
3rd Sue Roberts
