Super show atmosphere where a small but experienced committee excelled. Thank you for inviting me and to all exhibitors for their kind entries each was much appreciated.
Whippet P (3,1)
- Bowrey – Cobyco Cool Runner
Free moving grey/brown eight months dog with attractive, balanced breed outline very well muscled for his age and strong across the loins. Well proportioned lean head, excellent dark pigmentation and appealing expression. Lovely lay of shoulder and reach of neck, deep chest, stifles well turned, BP & PG3.
2. Mainwaring – Dowdrogo’s Scarlet Prince
Eight months dog preferred the shoulder set of the winner, still a sound mover but lacking the reach and drive of the above. Another very well bodied exhibit and conditioned muscle for his age, graceful and compact outline. Head well balanced with slight stop and the very best of well knuckled, oval feet.

- Toogood – Nichrisar Druid Boy
Rising sixteen months brown dog pleasing for size and breed type, lovely bone straight and strong with sinews on show, pasterns well set, very well constructed with good neck and shoulders. Excels in quality of expression, firm loins and muscled hindquarters. Balanced standing and moving with excellent depth of brisket
2.Turnbull – Together For Ever At Turnstone
Seventeen months white/grey bitch rangier outline than the winner a quality exhibit not so settled on the day. Very well angulated throughout and beautifully muscled preferred muzzle finish of the winner.
3. Strong & Clinton – Amphoras Magiq In Vogue By Mackjama
Sixteen months smaller bitch than the above with slightly rounded rather than oval eye rim shape I considered which influenced her expression and not the front of the winners for me. Pleasing outline and construction, compact proportions with excellent tight oval feet and impressively muscled hindquarters.
PG (5,2)
- Turnbull – Turnstone Red Hot Diva
Nineteen months old bitch very well boned quality exhibit of excellent breed type possessing a most attractive head and expression. White/brown attractively marked, firmly developed hindquarters and second thighs, compact, oval feet, well arched, a lovely sound mover.
2. Toogood – Nichrisar Druid Boy
3. Franklin – Haccasbrook Madame Gigi
Rising two years brown/grey bitch excelled in muscled, fit condition with excellent bone though slightly down in front pasterns I considered. Beautifully presented with good depth of chest, firm loin and close feet, well arched toes. Would prefer a bit more length of ribcage to length of coupling for balance.

- Bellamy – Kandalama Royale
Rising four years brown/white/grey dog impressed me for overall balance and proportions, quality and type a super true mover coming and going with pleasing forward lift and extension. Excellent straight, solid front, elbows close, arched, strong neck and lovely lay of shoulders. Ribcage well sprung reaching well back and deep chested, super bone and close, oval feet, BOB & G3.
2. Wayman – Speymalt Northern Star JW
Five year old smaller white/grey dog of quality desirable type, most attractive breed outline pushed the winner hard but not as settled and confident on the day. Excellent mature muscling especially on second thighs and quality bone throughout, RBOB.
3. Whitmore – Whitleara Truly Scrumpy
Rising four year old white/brindle bitch deeper in stop than those above and for me toeing in slightly standing. Compact breed outline with lovely depth of brisket and short in the couplings, not quite the hindquarter muscle finish of those above. Pleasing topline and firm across the loins, good bone, strong pasterns.
Afghan Hound PG (4,2)

Broad hips, good length of thighs, pleasing breed type but not currently carrying the body finish or feet of the first, moved with style.

- Young – Saxonmill Mister Mister At Shirobana
Two and a quarter years dog stood alone but stood out for quality and breed type. A maturing masculine head with punishing jaws, aloof expression and super eye colour complementing finely textured coat beautifully presented. Excellent angulation throughout super overall balance, very well bodied and strong across the loins. Excels in muzzle, large feet and pads and outstanding ringed tail. A dynamic, sweeping sound mover, most impressive with proud head carriage and raised tail action, BOB & G1.

- Breeze – Dufosee Dragonfly Of Parkbreeway
Ten months bitch with lovely feminine balanced head, very appealing expression, top quality stamp with flowing, compact outline without any coarseness. 3. Roberts & Spearing – Linkenlees Laurina
Two and a half year old bitch another fine breed type but not quite the finish of muzzle of the winners for me. Very well balanced outline, strong bone and well knuckled feet, good spring of ribcage, short coupled. Strong hindquarters well muscled, sturdy stern set and carried correctly.
O (6,1)
- Mitchell & Roberts – Huntshill Tornado JW

Seven and a half year old dog looking really well for his years, sound type, strongly made and well knit together another excellent, precise mover with stern well carried. Masculine head well proportioned, full nostrils, topline straight and level. Compact and sturdy build, moved with determined drive.
3. Roberts & Spearling – Linkenlees Lyric Sh.CM.
Two and a half year old bitch not quite the presence of the dogs but a lovely steady, driving mover sound in front and rear. The sweetest of expressions, eyes well coloured, set and shaped, well sprung ribcage and short in the couplings. Excellent pigmentation and full nostrils on show, good bone and feet, held her topline well on the move.

- Burnside & Manley – Houndseeker Amethyst
Rising twenty two months pleasingly typical bitch well bodied for her age with strong bone and correct for size, promising head, nostrils large and open, well balanced standing with good depth of brisket, elbows close and well ribbed back. Shoulders well laid back, the better mover of the two exhibits on the day, both entries were much appreciated, BOB.
2. Griffiths & Mortimer – Houndseeker Alaric
Twenty two months dog litter brother to the winner and similarly pleasing for type with a lovely head, more appealing eyes and tighter rims than the above, excellent bite with strong teeth. Ears lengthy with excellent bone, rich black pigmentation, good reach of neck into well laid shoulders with good depth of brisket. Needs time to develop body condition and tighten all round in my opinion, RBOB.

3. Clayton-Smith – Cairparavel Kiss From A Rose (Wire Haired Dachs)

Three year old bitch another attractively sound mover with strongly balanced bone to body proportions and well arched feet. Typical unexaggerated breed outline, very level topline, firm and strong across the loins and slightly more tuck up than the winner but bite not as close.
AV Hound P (5,3)
- Clayton-Smith – Cairparavel Lilac Wine (Wire Haired Dachs)
Ten months bitch very pleasing for breed type, quality bone and firm, well arched feet and toes, well balanced and proportioned overall with solid front well formed for her age, coat harsh textured and lying close. A sound mover though lacking enthusiasm on the day as she does not need to carry any more weight in my opinion.
2. Zaivej – Victorypaw Tarara (Min Smooth Haired Dachs)
Rising eight months bitch well balanced feminine head, body slightly long and not the movement of the winner. Level, firm topline, good underline, well ribbed back, plenty of full sternum on show.
