It was immensely enjoyable to assess your beautiful breed and I appreciated every exhibit entered, thank you. Thanks also to my excellent stewards Ann and Elaine. My winners gave me much pleasure and looked resplendent in blooming coats, feathering and furnishings, the youngsters were promising and it was super for the breed to achieve a group placing in special beginners. So impressive to see the fruits of breeders efforts to increase the gene pool with continuing imports. I wish you all well in your development of the delightful Kooikerhondje breed, good luck too with all the new puppies I understand are out there.
- Suiter – Genetika Rumpelstilskin
Seventeen months old litter brother to BOB pleasing breed type, head balanced and well proportioned, typical slight stop delightfully warm, friendly expression with lovely dark brown eye colour, rims well shaped and set. Slightly longer to height than I would prefer but well angulated overall. Good body condition for his age but needs time to develop further. Sound on the move with attractive length of black earrings on display, RBD.
2.Everett – Middanwinter Pony Parade
Eight months and a heavier build than the winner with not his finish of earrings due to his immaturity, a stronger head slightly blocky for me but balanced. Excellent moderately strong bone and compact feet, would not wish any more spring of ribcage. Strong and firm across the loins impressive for his age as were his really well developed muscled hindquarters and second thighs. Still needs to firm up on the move which was sound but not quite the standard of the winner on the day, BDP &BP.
3. Whitehead – Gladsheim Helios
Seventeen months a sound mover with very pleasing, typical tail carriage, well flagged, lovely length of black earrings on display. Appealing eye colour and shape creating typical expression but I would prefer a little more strength overall in the head on a male at this stage. Stood correctly proportioned in outline and well balanced overall.
- Frankcom – Genetika Tiny Tom Thumb
Seventeen months old and drew my eye in the challenge despite his tender age, highly typical lush length of black earrings hanging well, many fine breed features on display though not as squarely balanced as some but nevertheless a most attractive outline with coat in full bloom with undercoat and well textured. Clear black ring tail on well flagged white tail typically carried level on the move, super strength of bone though feet presented as a bit ten to two in front. Excellent topline and firm across the loins with correct depth of brisket. Head maturing well with excellent proportions though no more depth of stop is required in my opinion. Well sprung ribcage carried well back, first class hindquarter muscling moving very soundly and true behind if a touch wide in front on times. So much breed character in evidence and beautifully presented he carried himself in an extending, jaunty style with correct head and tail carriage to demand BD & BOB over the bitch also his mother.
- Suiter – Chriskoois Octavius At Genetika (Imp Est)
Three years old well marked with distinctive black earrings and tail ring moved well in a jaunty manner in profile though could be more positive fore and aft on times on the day. Coat well laid and textured with undercoat, pleasing dark brown eye colour and shape with attractive breed expression, well boned and stood on compact feet. Ribcage well sprung and reaching well back, firm across the loins an honest balanced dog not overdone in any one department.
2. Marsden – Gladsheim Apollo
Rising three years old with well proportioned head, delightful masculine expression, long feathered earrings. Well balanced standing and moving sound and true front and rear with the best well muscled hindquarters in the class. Excellent topline, well turned stifles very typical in all respects.
3.Williams – Cairnbraid Onwaba Lukimbi Of Gladsheim (Imp Bel)
Rising three and a half years old the most squarely built exhibit in the class somewhat cobby in my opinion with heavier head proportions than those above him. Black earrings on show, excellent solid bone and close, compact feet, good depth of brisket with well muscled hindquarters. Did not display quite the standard of movement of the winners for me on the day.
- Guy – Gladsheim Eleodoro
Seventeen months good head proportions though they could be somewhat stronger and more masculine for me, attractive blaze, dark brown eye colour, eyes well shaped and set correctly. Reasonable spring of ribcage presented in well covered body condition, attractive black earrings present hanging well. Muscular hindquarters tail carried rather high on the move but well flagged, slightly narrow in action for me on the day moving front and rear.
- Suiter – Genetika Wake Up Aurora
Seventeen months old litter sister to the BOB to which I awarded BSB for her later to be placed third in the SB Group under Mrs Dunhill. Although she stood alone her excellent breed type shone through, well balanced and proportioned overall with attractive length of black earrings for her age and ringed tail. Pleasing head and expression though personally would prefer a slightly wider blaze on show. Good topline presented in lovely coat, feather and texture. Moved steadily and true if slightly narrow throughout in my opinion, stifles well turned.
- Groome – Middanwinter One Trick Pony
Eight months litter sister to BP with super shoulder placement, excellent breed type, well proportioned throughout and a sound mover, well bodied condition for her age and I expect her earrings to come with time. Good bone and compact feet, muzzle of correct wedge shape with pleasing length and blaze, well sprung ribcage reaching well back. Impressively well muscled hindquarters for her age, some speckling present in white coat, BBP.
2. Allman – Gladsheim Oriana At Shantess
Delightfully tempered seventeen months lively typical young bitch well proportioned and balanced standing, good spring of ribcage, presented in lovely body condition and firm across the loins. Not the movement and finish of the winner today and needs time to mature on and grow some more earrings.
- Suiter – Cirtaps Hertogin Freya Van Qira-T At Genetika (Imp Swe)
Six and a half years old, the dam of BOB winner, presented in lovely full clean coat, beautifully feathered with undercoat and solid body condition, pleasing for size and breed balanced, well muscled overall. Friendly expression on well proportioned head, eyes dark brown, well set and shaped, strong, straight true front with good bone. Well sprung ribcage and firm across the loins with excellent topline. The soundest mover in the class with a flowing gait in profile, BB.
2. Stewart – Duckhills Thistledown Dance Of Emmi Over Twybrook (Imp Swe)
Two years four months a rather bigger specimen all round with a plainer expression I considered than the winner. Most attractive long, black earrings, excellent spring of ribcage and super strength across the loins. Very well muscled hindquarters with deep second thighs though I would like a bit more depth of body throughout and a little less daylight on show. Excellent topline, marked ring tail and an acceptable mover.
3. Kennedy – Crunchcroft Quantum Leap
Two and a half years old and very typical with alert, intelligent breed expression supported by lovely dark brown eye colour, eyes well set and shaped. Balanced outline well sprung ribcage, nicely short coupled though did not always hold her topline well on the day. Presented in dense, short coat with undercoat and correct texture, well muscled, solid hindquarters.
- Swinburn – Cirtaps Prinses Bynton Ida Rose Mk (Imp Swe)
Four years eight months mature bitch not in her best coat, excellent breed type which complimented the best bitch, very typical outline and proportions and the best mover in the class in my opinion. Lovely friendly breed expression, head evenly balanced muzzle to skull and was carried well on the move, moderate stop. Well knit together overall, excellent topline, firm and strong across the loins, correct tail set and carriage, well muscled hindquarters. Having recovered from a litter and when she returns to full coat she should enjoy some winning ways, RBB.
2. Groome – Cairnbraid Menina Selva At Middanwinter
Five years two months in better coat presentation than the winner with attractive long, black earrings on display but carrying a tad too much weight in my view. Lovely dark brown eye colour, well set and shaped, good topline, very well muscled hindquarters. Black ring noted tail carried well with some flagging, movement was sound and acceptable.
3. Johnson – Sensation Vom Tespelkooi Of Valleyrise (Imp Deu)
Rising three and a half years another sadly not in her best coat on the day lacking feathering and earrings. Very pleasing alert expression set off by attractive dark brown eyes well set and shaped, a desirably squarer more compact outline than those placed above her, excellent topline and presented in lovely body condition. For me not quite the movement of the winners on the day.
