And how are we residents of Chihuahua Town in this ongoing heatwave? I don’t know about you but this week has been a stressful one here, starting with a C Section/spay, then Ofsted at school, then and emergency dental procedure on my Papillon. I’m looking forward to showing this weekend for a break from the stress!
Last week was East of England. Longs were judged by Mrs E Banks, and evidently caused some controversy (in terms of methods of judging). What I will say is that it is right that we as exhibitors have the freedom to voice our opinions and I thought from what I read on social media, exhibitors were very fair and factual in their comments. DCC was Angie Mcallister’s Bermac Blazing Glory JW, RDCC Tony Allcock’s Sandiman Last Tango In Paris Sleepyhollow, BCC and BOB Dorothy Entwistle’s Dorentys Viva Vienna JW, RBCC Wendy Turnbull’s Somergemz Warrior Princess For Hurascalexi, BP Tony Allcock’s Garnoz Shortbread Kiss, BV Paula Hunter’s Chanteki Love In The Mist At Twiganlu (affix is misspelt on Fosse Data), and BSpecBeg Mrs M Thomas’ Okajem Im Your Man For Magikala.
Smooths were judged by Stephen Bardwell. DCC and BOB was Amy Davies’ Ch Dachida’s Johnnie Hot Rocks, RDCC Mrs Facey’s Copymear Calendar Boy, BCC Miss L Soper’s Leander Baby Jane, RBCC Wendy Ansell’s Myojo Toy Story, BP Shelda Hornby’s Bramerita Prosecco Please, BV Beverley Sutton’s Ch Lozek Rhapsody In Blue Nikitos JW and BSpecBeg Mrs D Lane’s Denqiue Shine Bright.
At the open shows, at Monmouth, Amanda Green’s Ellochi Chasing Stars was 1st in Junior and BPIB. At Greenock Emma Huntley’s Jahneemahs Gift Of Gold was 1st in Junior, BOB and Group 4. Jahneemahs Laced In Love was 1st in Post Graduate and Jahneemahs Look At Me 1st in Open. At Goosnargh Lorraine Daly’s Lozmarchi Snow Dance was 1st in Junior and BPIB. At the same show Mairi Austin’s Mairichis Blossom won the Toy Veteran Class, Dorothy Entwistle’s Vienna (long) went BOB and Group 1, Rita Johnson’s Diamonchi Golden Symphony At Jaffagems (smooth) was BOB and group 2 – a good day for the Chihuahuas at that show!
At the Irish shows, at Bray and District Canine Club Wilma McDevitt’s Leri’s Gang Cocoon At Keenaughts was 1st in Puppy Bitch and RGSB and Keenaughts Once In A Blue Moon was BPIB. Francine Kelly’s Yorone Press Call For Frapachi took GSD and RBOB and Mary Goode’s Orchestra Da Minha Quinta was Best Baby Puppy in Breed. At the Chihuahua Club Of Ireland Championship Show, Press Call also took the GSD and RBOB.
In agility results, Naomi Hosker’s Skye was 1st in Grade 5 Agility at East of England. They were there on a different day to the breed judging, but what a fabulous win for the breed at this level of agility.
This week’s photo of their ‘proudest Chihuahua moment’ is Michelle Emmerson with her dog winning the DCC at Crufts. I love a photo with great big smiles – dogs and humans! Thank you to all of you who’ve sent me photos so far – keep them coming! There’s a couple of breed clubs shows this weekend, so send me your results for next week’s notes.
Apologies this week’s notes aren’t more exciting, but sleep deprivation has been a theme in my house this week. Have a fab weekend on the show circuit with your littlies!
