Well that’s another Crufts done and dusted with and hopefully one that will hold great memories for everyone, whether it be successes hoped for or just meeting new friends or some awesome shopping! Our breed was judged on Saturday this year by Mark Burns and had 20 absentees on the day. His Best of Breed was SP CH Valkrest the First Lady who is owned by Mr P and Mrs M Parra & Torras and is from Spain. BOS and the DCC was Felicia and Jeanette Lemmeke’s junior dog Jean Dark King For A Day, and they also too the RBCC with their INT Multi Ch Jean Dark Barbie Girl. RDCC went to Tina & Dawn Dixon’s Ch Debrita Don’t Stop Me now JW SHCM, taking BPIB also with Glorious Yasmine Heybett Avec Debrita (IMP SVK). Finally it was nice to see a BVIB awarded and this was taken by Anna Carlsson’s Int Multi CH Neddies Amazing Amie – very well done to all concerned – a superb day with memories to cherish! The day overall was a nice relaxed one with lots of in person chatting from Facebook friends meeting in person for the first time. The club stand was well received and had some lovely trinkets on sale to meet every crested lovers needs and there was cake handed round to celebrate Sheila Wrenn’s birthday who it was lovely to see at the shows again. The Discover Dogs Stand had a revamp this year courtesy of Marion Proctor and Tracey McGowan and looked superb and was well received by all. Huge thank you to everyone who manned the stand or provided dogs across the four days, you really all were great ambassadors for the breed and did a superb job that is very much appreciated by all! Crufts was a memorable one for me personally with Thursday seeing the Junior Warrant Finals, which was held in the main ring just before the groups. It was a dream come true being able to show in the big ring and mine and Sanna Wrisnig’s Twice As Nice Seven Monkey Fury JW (Imp SWE) really did us proud by taking the atmosphere all in his stride. To be at the finals was an honour enough having qualified first at Scunthrope CS under Stephen Bardwell and then being put through the Semi Finals at Discover Dogs by Liz Stannard, so when judge on the day Robin Newhouse chose us as the overall Runner Up we were beyond ecstatic. I am still pinching myself and well and truly on cloud 9 and would like to thank all 3 judges for appreciating our boy!
Obviously no Open Show news but an abundance of them coming up so do try and support them, especially those that have breed or club list judges. Wont be long now until the outside champ shows begin and hopefully we can enjoy some nice sunny days – this year has certainly not shown us many so far, so lets pray that means we are owed some! I for one am fed up with soggy muddy monsters returning from every run! Good luck wherever you are showing and enjoy yourselves and the time with your dogs!
