Well that a difference the weather makes! Im sure all your crested have enjoyed basking and playing in the sun as much as mine and all we can hope it that it lasts and the ground continues to dry out for when the outside shows start.
Some good results from open shows across the weekend – at Leominster Open show under Lorraine Ratter, Anne & Tracey McGuigan and John Blackwell’s Doucai’s Too Cute To Scare At Annamac went BOB and then Group 3. At Clydebank open Show Evelyn Frame was BOB with her Elfallons Little Dragon under Stephen Goodwin, whilst at Colne & Nelso CS Carol Ousbey went BOB uner Rosie Clark and group 4 under Brian Hindley with her Birchvolgyi Indigo Malverne. At Drongan CS open Show Elsie and Bruce Moyes and Gail Hunter’s Bryelis Dancing Queen had a super day winning BOB, Group 3 and the Puppy Group under Penny Macllroy-Stracey. Finally at the Isle of Wight CS, Linda Mcfarlane’s Zerachiel Exotic Dancer ShCM was BOB and Group 4 and Zerachiel Private Dancer At Tramarllan JW was RBOB under Pat Gregory. Very well done to you all!
Entry Figures are in for The National where Gerald Jipping (NLD) has 75 dogs making 84 entries. This is another show where are numbers have taken a drop on last year and I hope the trend wont continue across the year as so far nearly every show in 2018 has seen the total number of dogs entered in our breed decline – Boston -33%, Manchester -22%, Crufts -6%, Chinese Crested Club of GB -23%, WELKS – 11% and now the National -31%. UK Toy has been the only show this year to show an increase at +2%. I would be interested to hear your opinions on why we are seeing this decline so I can share here and also if you plan on entering more or less shows across the year than you did last year and why?
Have fun wherever you are showing and don’t forget to send me your news! Donna Crow donna.crow@outlook.com
