This weekend proved quite challenging at Manchester Championship Dog Show, held at Stafford Agricultural Showground. Snow and rain had conspired to cause difficult travelling conditions and the car park had become a muddy quagmire with a great many exhibitors needing to be towed out the day before.
But GWP exhibitors are hardy souls and even without CC’s, the combination of a foreign judge, docked dogs being allowed and many new puppies out, gave an excellent entry of 26 dogs with only 8 absent on the day.
Our Swedish judge, Mr Henric Fryckstrand, in the end found in his final line-up, many of the dogs that have been winning consistently to date.
Best Dog and Best of Breed went to the junior dog, Bareve Boschkloof. Owned by Miss S Pinkerton, he has 1 CC to date, with BoB.
Best Bitch went to the open bitch, Sh Ch Esmee Dragon From Rhona’s Home at Bareve (imp NLD). Owned by Miss S Pinkerton, this undocked bitch has 7 CC’s to date, 5 with BoB including Crufts in 2016 and 2017.
Reserve Best Dog was the open dog, Sh Ch Kimmax Kurious George. Owned by Mr P F & Mrs M McCullough, he has 7 CC’s to date, 3 with BoB. Reserve Best Bitch went to his litter sister, Kimmax Miss Congeniality. Owned by Mr P F & Mrs M McCullough, she has 3 CC’s to date, none with BoB.
Best Puppy went to the bitch, Bareve Back to Black. Owned by Miss S Pinkerton, this black and white lady was only 6 months old and appearing at her first championship show.
Later in the day, Miss Pinkerton’s Bareve Back to Black was 4th in the Puppy Stakes under judge Tim Ball (65 entries, 37 absent) and Sh Ch Kimmax Kurious George won the Good Citizens Stake Class under judge, Mrs Patsy Hollings (52 entries, 32 absent).
