What a glorious sunny weekend we all had, so lovely for taking our hounds out for walks, or if you were like me, helping you out in the garden. I use the term ‘help’ lightly, as my Pandora spent the day digging up all the new plants I’d just planted! Sunday saw the Hound Association holds its Open Show at Ryton on Dunsmore where Lorraine Fitzgerald was judging. She had a very respectable entry of 15, and awarded BOB to Jody Cutlers and Hadley Lubins’, Zoraden My Girl at Chosovi, better known as ‘Maia’. She was also shortlisted in the large hound group under BIS judge Mr Darren Fellows. Scanning through Higham and Fosse Data sites I see that Southern Counties has scheduled classes for greyhounds which is lovely as in previous years the AVNSC classes have been well filled with greyhounds. The judge here is Julie McKensie. At the AGM, the annual presentations were made to the winners of top dog, top puppy and top affix. Liz Millward and Lynda Race were presented with their beautiful trophy by Claire Rishworth for the top dog award for theirs and Claire Millwards’ (who was having to sadly work) Ch Windspiel Northern Scribe to Alouann, ‘Parker’. Well done to all the team and of course Bob and Elaine Newsham who bred him. Top puppy went to Roisin Howlett, Ina Koulermou and my, Inas Fashion Dedicated to Boughton, ‘Todd’. Lastly I was proud to receive the Windspiel Top Affix trophy from Claire Rishworth for the Boughton Kennel. The top racing dog trophy will be presented at the Championship show as not present. Schedules have been sent out for the championship show on 16th June, so if you do not have yours and would like one please contact the secretary. Lastly reminder that entries for SKC shut shortly
