With Storm Emma, Beasts from the East and general all round chaos, there’s not an awful lot to report this week, sadly. However all eyes I’m sure are looking towards Saturday, and Crufts! As mentioned last week, we have a record entry, so even if you are not showing, you should certainly pop along to celebrate our wonderful breed in such numbers.
We are in our usual ring 23 in Hall 4 and this year is our turn to be first in the ring, ahead of Pekingese. Judging starts at 09.00 and I believe doors open to exhibitors at 06.30. Our good friend from the US, Margaret Fox, will be around the ring too. She will be covering the breed judging, as well as meeting with exhibitors around the benches. You can follow Margaret on her both her Facebook page and Instagram site, both called Daily Dogs Devotional. Margaret may even include some photos in her Daily Dogs Devotional Magazine, and if she does, I will be sure to provide information here on where you can access it.
I will have a full report on Crufts next week, but in the meantime I would like to wish everyone a safe journey and the very best of luck. Remember, regardless of the results, we all take the best dog’s home. I am looking forward to catching up with you all on Saturday,
Finally, please don’t forget about the Havanese Club of GB’s BVA Eye testing clinic, with Mr John Goodyear on Sunday 25th March. The venue is Normanton Village Hall, Normanton on Saor, Loughborough, LE12 5HB and a BVA group rate for eye testing will apply. Litter screening will also be available at the usual BVA rate. Fully paid up members of the Havanese Club of GB who submit eye testing certificates on the day will receive a further discount. If you would like any further information, you can contact the Clubs Health Officer, Andrea Akkad either by pm on Facebook or by email via contact@havanese-club-gb.co.uk. Please note that the Clubs AGM will follow the Eye Testing Clinic.
If you have any news, results or information that you would like included in the breed notes, please feel free to drop me a line. You can contact me either by email (cartyolivia@gmail.com) or on Facebook through Facebook Messenger.
