Well the World Cup is all over, bar the shouting. France are this year’s champions, but what a match! I think it was one of the most exciting World Cup Finals in a very long time. Well done to both Croatia and France!
Although there were no championship shows in the UK, I see that Dilly Apsland and Luni continue to blaze a trail on the agility scene, winning more competitions over the weekend. She came 1st in Agility and 1st and 2nd in Jumping at Adam Agility. This means that she has now gone up a grade in the Kennel Club system. Congratulations Dilly and Luni!
Sheila Martin’s Baillie also did well over the past weekend, winning the Progression Cup for most promising dog in Class at an Obedience competition. Well done Sheila and Baillie!
I see there is a change of judge for Havanese for Leeds Championship Show. Havanese will now be judged by Stuart Payne.
Here in Ireland, Irish Ladies Kennel Association took place on Saturday. Our judge was Mr V Nataletti from Italy. On the day, he had two dogs and one bitch. Green Star Dog went to A Rutzel’s Am Ch Kolmars Painted Masterpiece, Reserve Green Star to Peter Summersgill’s Prince Timmy of Bohemica Land. Green Star Bitch and Best of Breed was awarded to Mr L A Prado Pena’s Pt Gr Ch Multi Ch CIB Amazing Dance Shisuka Multi Jr Ch, who also did a fantastic job representing the breed in the Group by being paced 3rd under Mr W McCrum.
This weekend sees Sligo host their annual Championship Show. Our Judge is Mr R Douma from the Netherlands. Judging starts at 10.30 and we are in ring 12. There are a few breeds on in advance of Havanese, so the start shouldn’t be too early. A breakdown of entries hasn’t been published yet unfortunately.
There aren’t any Championship Shows taking place in the UK this weekend, however the Bakewell Premier Open Show is taking place over the weekend. Toy Day is on Sunday and Havanese are first in ring 10. There is a fantastic entry of 21 for judge Liz Cartaledge. Paul Clayton has kindly offered rosettes for Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Breed, Best Puppy and 1st – 3rd in all Havanese Classes. Michelle Walker has offered a Best of Breed Sash for the BOB winner.
