Thank you so much HOUND ASSOCIATION OF SCOTLAND for inviting me to judge BIS and BPIS at your 34th show, the hospitality was excellent and I really enjoyed the day. The highlight of my judging career made memorable by the quality of the exhibits the breed judges sent through. From an excellent line up I shortlisted 8, the hounds I didn’t place were the Beagle who is of a lovely type but didn’t move out as well on the final run, the GBGV and the Norwegian Elkhound were both close up to the winners and excellent representatives of their respective breeds, and the Finnish Spitz who at 10 years gave such an impressive performance on the move, a real hunter.
Group 1 The Griffon Fauve de Bretagne, Hibeck Dino, this boy superbly handled didn’t put a foot wrong he has superb conformation, is strongly built with the best of heads, a good outline and he is groomed impeccably. It is on the move that he excels displaying great reach and driving off his powerful hocks, today was his day and I wish him continued success.
Group 2 The Deerhound Ch Kaleginy The Forester ShCM a balanced and shapely typical 4 year old, good bone and those characteristic drooping hindquarters that I so love about this breed. I particularly liked his head, strong neck and topline. He is very sound and was close up to the winner
Group 3 The Greyhound Boughton Bizzarrini at Azrams Coming up to two years, she has a gleaming blue brindle coat, her head is classic with well folded ears, well bodied with good angulation front and rear. She moved very well with good reach and drive from the rear.
Group 4 The Long Haired Dachshund Ch Bronia True Legacy fully mature male of great quality. He is a pleasure to go over with each part flowing into the next, his head is masculine, excellent front assembly and well muscled hindquarters. He is a very sound and positive mover.
Puppy Group 1 The GBGV Jayanel Ambiorix this youngster impressed me instantly he has a lovely attitude and super movement, only 9 months old he has a typical head, good topline and tail carriage. Moved freely on a long stride.
Puppy Group 2 The Afghan Drishaun Faith Is Like A Lily for Javidan 10 months bitch she has a feminine head and strong underjaw, she has a long neck, good shoulder and she is well bodied with a good topline. Her character and springy movement secured her place
Puppy Group 3 The Basset Fauve de Bretagne Malrich Gingerbread Man lovely male of nearly 10 months, typical with quality head, harsh coat, deep chest, moved well on a long stride and tail carried well.
Puppy Group 4 The Wire Haired Dachshund Tannahill Oslo quality male of 10 months, classic head, strong neck and excelling in forehand construction, well developed hindquarters, lovely character with long striding movement.
