Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
Kevan Berry (Ricksbury)
I would like to start by thanking the Officers and the Committee of the LKA for inviting me to judge both sexes of the breed, something I have never done before. I thought that there were some very promising youngsters particularly in the bitches coming along. I was completely blown away by my BCC winner; little did I thing I could award a Challenge Certificate to a Minor Puppy but that is the joy of judging. A big thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me this quality entry. Finally, I would like to express my thanks to both my Stewards Eddie Bishop and Claire who kept the day running so smooth.
MPD (13, 4)

1 Hughes Loranka’s Glory Days I liked his size a well broken richly marked Blenheim with a flat skull, not as soft in expression as I would have liked and could have been more positive in the rear.
2 Davies Salegreen Brecon again a Blenheim of nice size and quality, good head with a good dark eye and good pigmentation, he too was moving a little too close behind and more unsettled than the winner.

MPB (11, 2) This was a nice class with some promising puppies coming along
1 Long Arroline Eclipse wonderful tri colour I would change nothing about her with one exception, change of owner? A beautiful headed tri colour, it is so difficult to obtain this quality in this colour. I love her size, her confident manner, her sound free movement both ends. her spirit topline and whilst only just 9 months, she completely captivated me and I was happy to award her the BCC and BP I would think the first of many.
2 Miller & Ryan Cavallibrook Celtic Kiss another lovely puppy of great quality, a sweet feminine head with a good dark eye. Again, giving the desired expression, a well-balanced body, she moved confidential back and front and I would predict a bright future for this one also
3 Poundford & Rollins Brymarden Blissful

1 Brooks Moonvale Martini smart well presented Blenheim her coat was of a soft silky texture and she was well marked. She has a classic head with large dark expressive eyes, good pigment. I liked her size and her type. I just wish she could have got her head up a little more, she was sired by todays best of breed winner as was the second in this class
2 Ireland Moonvale Mai Tai for Charnell another lovely bitch of good size and full of bread type and quality, very pleasant head, nice neck and shoulders. Obviously, she lacks maturity. I later found out that these two nice puppies were litter sisters.
3 Linton Thekop’s Cinderella
JB (17, 4)
1 Sansom Byermoor The Empress top class Blenheim with a dream of a head. She is so well balanced, small and compact body, has good bone, she is sound free moving young bitch that has nothing to hide. In the challenge I was splitting hairs between her and the BCC winner, the one I would like to own. She is a beautiful bitch but she needs time to finish. I was happy to award her the RBCC
2 Whitehouse & Whitehouse Embeth Jessie Jay at Denain another outstanding Blenheim and very unlucky to meet the winner. She has a supper head flat between the ears large dark expressive eyes giving the kind expression, excellent pigmentation and a nicely broke coat of correct texture. Lovely example of the breed.
