Flatcoated Retrievers
Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge and to the exhibitors for a quality entry. On the hole gos were well presented, however a number of exhibits lacked the desired muscle tone, that said, I really enjoyed my day and was very pleased with my principle winners.
Puppy 9 (4abs)
A quality class of puppies with great potential for the future.
1. Warrington’s Bochilbarley Heaven Sent to Woodavens (AI). Confident and exuberant 6 months old bitch. She has a lovely one piece well moulded head with dark eye, good reach of neck and well laid shoulder. Her ribcage has good depth , with gentle spring and of good length. Correct balanced angulation, quality bone and lovely neat round feet. Happy to award her BP.
2. Strudwick’s Flatcharm Miss Lotsa Love for Burpham. Another lve baby. She has an ultra- feminine head and cheeky expression. Moderate front angulation with good depth and length of ribcage and correct short square loin. She is a little bum high at the moment which spoiled the overall balance. Standing four square on good feet. Moved well.
3. Lewin’s Vynesbrook A Kind Of Magic.
Junior 3 (1abs)
1. Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Won’t Let You Go. Elegant young bitch. Feminine head with dark eye and good reach of neck. Her outline is racy with strong level topline, moderately angulated hindquarters with good width of thigh. Moved ok.
2. Powell’s Bonnyhilbrae Love of Joy. She has feminine balanced outline with a good head and dark eye but I’d prefer it to be more length of muzzle. Strong through her topline both standing and on the move. Would prefer a little more quality bone.
Graduate 4
1. Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Blue Moon (AI). Medium sized dog with a typical flatcoat temperament, good head and cheeky expression. He has a racy balnced outline with strong topline. His shoulders are well laid, with good length of rib and correct sort loin. Good bone and neat well arched feet. Moved well.
2. Goodman’s Blacklake Isabella . Up to size 2 year old bitch. She has feminine head with lovely dark eye. Correctly angulated front with good length and depth of ribcage. Moved ok.
3. Broadbent’s Trapestone Out Of The Blue.
Open 10 (3abs)
1. Murray’s Araminta Glass At Gayplume. This 7 year old bitch is in super fit condition. She has a classic feminine head with good length of muzzle and correct fill in. Good reach of neck and well laid shoulder, level topline and short square loin. She moves very well with reach and drive. BOB.
2. Warrington’s Bochilbarley Jasmine by Woodavens. Medium sized feminine bitch with feminine head, hazel eye and neat well set ears. Her chest is of good depth with correct length and spring of rib and short loin. Strong level topline and correct tailset. She is very balanced fore and aft with good bone and feet. Unfortunately her over exuberance let her down on the move.
3. Montandon’s Trapestone Bohemian Girl.
