Hello, is spring sprung yet? The Hounds are getting in the mood for long runs over the fields and down the woods but with very unsettled weather and very much an ordeal by mud underfoot, they are going to be disappointed for a few more days!
Not much news post-Crufts, but some folks have been out and about over the Easter weekend to various open shows and events:
The dog who was awarded Res.CC from JD at Crufts, Fantasa Dallas Maverick, owned by Rebecca Collins and Michaela Dunhill-Hall, did very well: At Chertsey DCS on Good Friday, he won Best in Show from AVNSC (judge, Helen Geeson), then on Easter Monday, he won Best AVNSC from Leila Tarabad at Dunstable DCS. Up in Scotland at Rutherglen Open, Brian and Linda Playfair’s dog, Habiba Ra Harmachis at Saqqara ShCM, was awarded G3. Nanette Lloyd ventured out to Builth Wells for the Welsh Junior of The Year Competition with her youngster ‘Nova’, Athanasius Astorte, they won through to the second round. Congratulations all.
WELKS is at the end of the month, no entry figures yet, but I’m sure breed judge Chris Rees will have a fair few hounds for consideration. Fingers crossed for fair weather at Malvern!
