Many thanks to the society for this appointment, which I really enjoyed, not least because of the great atmosphere which prevailed throughout. It is quite a while since I have been to an open show that was so busy, which was a lovely experience. Congratulations to the officers, committee, stewards and the catalogue seller, for all their hard work.
Any breed, particularly toys, where coat can play an important part has to have the confirmation and substance as well as the effusive coat. Therefore, when judging the coat is the final consideration. The exhibitors took my placings in a very sporting manner.
Chihuahua (Long Coat)
1st Jones’ Pepeetolynn Madame May, with a well shaped head enabling full dentition, good general confirmation who moved out really well. BP
2nd Nortons’ Valenchino One Last Time With Donluchi 11½mths male blue fawn of a chunkier type than 1, longer in body and not as settled on the move
Post Graduate (7,3
1st Nortons’ Donluchi Woody Woodpecker, a sable male who has a lovely head, earshape with full dentition. He is in proportion throughout, hence well balanced demonstrated wonderfully when moving. In good coat and feathering. BOB
2nd Peppers’ Peppersarmy Pollys Angel, very similar in type to the winner, but was carrying a little too much weight, but balance was maintained which showed in his movement.
3rd Mullard & Barnes’ Zentrums One And Only For Kintaro
1st Birchs’ Doobyave Careless Whispers At Serpentis, Champagne male, Good size head and shape, with lovely dark eye, Well laid shoulders coupled with good balance, enabling him to move positively in all aspects, particularly when coming and going.
2nd Gadsby & Elliotts’ Peakvalleys Dolly Dewdrop, at 8½ yrs, still in good shape and correct confirmation. His front movement was a little wide, but was good behind and in profile.
3rd Jones’ Pepeetolynn Dirty Dancer
1st Ginger & Parkinsons’Jodeschi Incoming Blizzard, Cream Bitch with correctly shaped head, domed skull and good earset. Full dentition and sparkly clean. Lovely length of neck, rinning into a good set of shoulders, good depth of chest, body in proportion, and hindquarters which enabled her to move most positively and good driving movement from the rear.
2nd Nortons’ Valenchino One Last Time With Donluchi, Blue fawn of a chunkier type than 1, is longer in the body and not as settled on the move.
Post Graduate (2,0)
1st Ansells’ Mjis Elle Dogomania, a red bitch who has a lovely head and pigmentation, slightly longer in neck , and when on the move, was good in profile although hind movement was not as true as it could be. Kept a cracking topline on the move. BOB
2nd Nortons’ Krassel Euphoria Blossom Valenchino (IMP), tricolour bitch, similarly good in head to 1, bit shorter in length of neck, general confirmation is balanced and within standard requirements. Demonstrated sound movement.
Although only 3 entrants the quality of the exhibits was very close and I’m sure these 3 will change places on other occasions.
1st Nortons’Jahneemahs Lets Rave Ruby With Donluchi, Fawn sable, lovely domed head shape, with lovely dark eye, full dentition, cracking earset and a beautifully cobby body, enabling perfectly executed movement in all aspects.
2nd Nortons’ Valenchino One Last Time With Donluchi as in Junior but moved much better due to being more settled.
3rd Ansells’ Myojo Toy Story
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
1st Hobbs’ Beaconsfield Minuet, B&T male, just 6 mths and is the correct size, good head shape and stop, ear leathers. Has a lovely scissor bite and beautifully clean. Beautifully balanced throughout, good markings and really solid movement. Shall watch his progress with interest.BP
2nd Biggs’ Pauroi Top Man At Kelloran, Blenheim male, another well balanced puppy, resulting from good confirmation without exaggeration enabling to produce positive movement.
1st Hobbs’ Rathbrist Wizard Of Love For Beaconsfylde (NAF), another just 6mths tricolour male. Again good size, lovely shaped head, no exaggerations, good length of stop, correct neck length leading into well laid shoulders, body shape good with matching depth of chest, spring of rib and length of loin. All these attributes enabled him to drive his movement through the hocks, thus he covered the ground effortlessly.
2nd Richardsons’ Kringleholme Mosaic, Blenhiem bitch, good stop and ear leathers, bit larger than 1 and longer in body, and this meant her profile movement was not as good as 1. She does have a lovely well broken coat that a Blenheim requires.
3rd Lunts’ Oaktreepark Just Magic
Post Graduate (3,0)
1st Dawsons’ Luphenex Little Lady Katie, tricolour bitch with all the correct markings, but would prefer a more broken coat on her torso. She has a lovely head, the sweetest of expressions, ears are correctly set on her skull, with a definite stop. Her confirmation was such that she moved well and made a really pretty picture on the move.
2nd Lunts’ Calonlan Practical Magic, 22½mths bitch, conforms to the standard in head, eye and ear shape, good general conformation, moved well all round, has a particularly good tail set and carriage.
3rd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Ashes N’Roses
1st Richardsons’ Kringleholme Seruna JW, Blenheim bitch, complete with centrally placed lozenge. She is a lovely correct sized girl and her general all round construction ensured that she moved with effortless style round the ring, in good coat, keeping her topline when on the move. BOB
2nd Hobbs’ Beaconsfylde Catch The Kiss JW ShCM Ruby male, with excellent bone supporting a body with good forechest, spring of rib, good pigment but oh how the picture was spoiled by his gay tail.
3rd Lunts’ Oaktreepark Magical Dreams
1st Carrs’ Daveyluvs D’Artagnan. Bichon Frise, just 6 mths, Good head shape, dark eye, pigmentation into neck of good length, a set of well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and spring of rib correct length of loin. Strong hocks producing positive driving movement, no exaggerations and was a pleasure to go over him and then see him move.
2nd Dawson-Paynes’ BF Judamie Got A Crush On You. Just 6mths, first time on a lead and who obviously needs a lot more training. She did allow me to go over her without hesitation, she moved really well and is a natural showgirl.
Post Graduate (2,1)
1st Tonks’ Altinas Wicked Winnifred, red Pomeranian bitch, in good coat with lovely face and head. Underneath the profuse coat there was the correct body substance, excellent bone. Enjoyed watching her move with drive and purpose.
1st Greens’ Vouzime Queen Elsa Over Samorrey, Maltese Terrier bitch, cracking head shape, beautiful dark eyes that you could get lost in, excellent pigmentation , good neck length into well laid shoulders, good depth of chest and body ratio, plus excellent hind and front quarters. Put all this together and you have a beautiful dog that you hope will move well. And she did, could not detract anything from her parallel or profile movement and with a coat that was in brilliant condition. Such a show girl. BAVNSC Toy
AV Toy Veteran(3,1)
1st Austins’ Ch. Mairchis Blossom JW, 8½yrs young L/C Chihuahua, who despite having lost a couple of teeth, has a domed head, correct length of neck, body of sound construction and still moving with all the positivity one would expect from a Champion

G1 Donluchi Woody Woodpecker
G2 Vouzime Queen Elsa Over Samorrey
G3 Farquharsons’ Chinese Crested Shansal Prince of Arabia. Lovely example of the breed and has all the right attributes but his movement was not as strong as it could be with tiredness at the end of a long day playing his part.
G4 Mjis Elle Dogomania JW
Toy Puppy Group
PG1 Shansal Prince of Arabia
PG2 Byrnes’ Pug Migang Polly Ann Lovely youngster who is a lovely size and who should not grow too big. She has a lovely shaped head with such a pretty face and expression, no breathing exaggeration, her overall movement is excellent, but I particularly liked her forward movement as she was so true in front.
