SWKA 2018 MINIATURE PINSCHERS
Many thanks to South Wales Kennel Association for the invitation to award my first set of CC’s in this delightful breed and particularly to Margaret and Val, my very capable stewards. Thank you Min Pinners for the lovely quality entry, it was such a memorable day.
Puppy Dog
Litter brothers in this class with many similar attributes and both displaying the desired hackney movement, although as they are puppies concentration and co-ordination at all times is yet to come! Both in excellent coat and red in colour, dark pigment, black nails and eye of good shape. Lovely length of head, a flat skull with muzzle of equal length. Earsets were where they should be, set on high and used well. Good forechests with good depth and balanced angulation.
1. Kirby’s Tubize Du Beke With Kirbsea BPD & BPIB
Du Beke had the edge today as, although he may be larger than preferred, he is more together in body and movement; topline is spot on which he kept on the move and when standing and is in good muscled condition and was enjoying his time in the ring.
2. Colborne-Baber & Stark’s Tubize Giovanni
Head still to fill and topline needing to settle as bum-high at this stage in development. Ideal for size and presents a lovely shape.
Junior Dog
1. Park’s Rayjen Carrot Cake
Dark red whose outline and presence immediately catches your eye as he just oozes confident Min Pin spirit. Masculine head, would prefer slightly more length all round. Lovely reach of neck; short-coupled and super topline and tailset, Has a tendency to stand wide in front, but has a good straight front and straight front legs with good depth to brisket. Covers the ground well, straighter in front but super clean, rear movement.
2. Twigg’s Bamtybo Dark Lord At Teffys
Blk/tan male, finer all round than 1. Head more typical with a dark eye of good shape. Correct small ears, but preferring the ear-set of 1. He has a lovely reach of neck, is longer cast than 1 with a tendency to over-stretch. Still needing to strengthen in front but with maturity that should come. Good forechest and depth and catlike feet with pencil marks and moves out well.
Post Grad Dog
1. Colborne-Baber’s Borneways Alfred The Great
Well-marked blk/tan male; Smaller than 2, presenting a balanced outline .Typical head, dark eye and small well-set ears. Lovely reach of neck and short-coupled with enough forechest and depth to elbow and moves well.
2. Mackie & Lester’s Wannabee Buzz About Town At Hawksflight (Imp USA)
Red male; Balanced head, with well-set, even dropped ears; Straighter in upper arm and lacking forechest and depth of 1, but a super reach of neck and strong topline and good tailset. Moves out well in front with clean movement behind.
Limit Dog
1. Eyles’ Vardenais C’est Moi
Red with the best head proportions of the class. Balanced, good length and strength, and his ears, small and well set and, today, were behaving. Lovely dark eye and good shape. Lovely reach of neck and good topline and tailset, although because he’s trying so hard he does have a tendency to over-stretch behind. Correct angulation all through and moving very well today from all angles.
2. Harrison’s Rayjen Rumbaba At Trenson
Litter brother to Junior winner where similar comments apply. Dark red in excellent coat and good medium bone. Super short nails. Masculine head, with small ears. Broader in skull than 1. Good length to neck and short, strong topline and correct tailset. Felt he was carrying a little extra weight over his shoulders as he moves well, covering the ground, but just not matching the reach and lift of 1 in front movement.
3. Schneider & Park’s Camalis Mr Magoo JW (imp Swe)
Open Dog(6)
1. Mackie’s Hawksflight He Who Dares DCC & BOS
Well marked blk/tan of good size, presenting a super outline and on his toes today, thoroughly enjoying his time in the ring. Super head proportions, with length and strength. Dark eye of correct shape and lovely reach of neck standing on a straight front with good forechest and depth. Pencil marks on his toes and super cat-like feet. Shorter-coupled than 2 with a good topline and tailset, and a tail that did not stop wagging. Moving out well today, he was not to be denied the DCC, his third.
2. Banton’s Darkiss Smokin Aces
Blk/tan male, slighter larger frame than 1 and pushing hard for the win. He is well-marked and in super condition with good angulation. Like his balanced typical head, his good earset. Like the strength of neck though not quite the reach of 1; lovely strong topline and correct tailset. Felt he let himself down on the move today. Another boy that deserves his title.
3. Gentle’s Dimogen Colin The Legend
Veteran Dog (2)
1. Collinson & Dare’s CH Collypins Lickety Split ShCM RDCC & BVIB
Blk/tan male that I have done well in the past. Again today, he was on top form, moving out well. Typical balanced head; small, well-set ears and used to advantage. He is short-coupled with a super topline and tailset; good angulation both front and rear. At 9 years old, so pleased to award him the RDCC. He is a real credit to his owner/breeder.
2. Dunn’s CH Valetta Alexander JW
Well-marked blk/tan with a typical head, masculine and balanced. Small ears, well set. Longer cast than 1. Great angulation front and rear moving out well.
Good Citizen Dog Scheme
1. French’s Wolfberg Riders On The Storm
5 year old well marked blk/tan boy of ideal size. Bone in proportion. Typical head of balanced proportions, correct eye, small ears, lovely neck into good topline and tailset. Moving out well in profile, just a little untidy coming at you and thoroughly enjoying his time in the ring.
Junior Bitch
1. Salsbury’s Bamtybo Hocus Pocus
Blk/tan whose ead proportions not equal at this stage, correct flat skull but requiring more length of muzzle to balance. Small ears, dark eye and lovely reach of neck, good topline and tailset and good angulation front and rear, moving out well with front reach and drive from the rear.

Dark red and full of character. Pretty head with a dark eye; small, well set ears. Lovely neck into strong topline and correct tailset. Good angulation, front and rear, longer cast and not the depth of 1 at this stage. A super mover.

1. Coull’s Vardenais Mischief Managed JW
Eye-catching red, with balanced head proportions and so pretty, dark eye and lovely expression, small ears with correct earset. Lovely reach of neck flowing into strong topline and correct tailset. Slightly larger than 2, but well balanced and moves so very well coming and going, displaying reach and lift in front with drive from the rear.

Well-marked blk/tan of ideal size and bone in proportion. Prettiest of heads, lovely eye and expression and small ears used well. Lovely length of neck into short strong topline and correct tailset.
