*Following on from the success of the Dog Walk Challenge earlier this year, the Young Kennel Club has launched a new two-month challenge for young dog owners looking to keep fit and active after the Covid-19 lockdown.
Taking place from now until 30 June, the YKC Running Challenge is inviting members of the Young Kennel Club to pick up the pace and go running with their dog/s, in order to be in with the chance to win a prize. The challenge involves running a set distance over the next two months to ultimately total either one mile, 5K or 10K in their local area, depending on their age group. Those under 12 years old are asked to run one mile across the eight weeks, whilst dog owners over 12 years old are challenged run 5K, and those over 17 years old are challenged to run 10K. The distance can be accumulated over a series of short runs over the two-month period.
Once completed, not only will the competitors receive a YKC Running Challenge certificate, they will also be entered into a draw to win a Fitbit and £100 Argos voucher.
In order to comply with the current Government advice, The Kennel Club recommends all those taking part and their parents regularly check the latest Government advice across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to assess their own situation, safety and ability to take part, and to ensure all Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions are followed.
